We had Wij Slopen Nu remove the shared chimney on the outside and neatly close up the roof and the extension again. They also removed the final section of the flue on the inside in the attic. The appointment was made quickly and they were able to get started within a few weeks.
On the day itself, the guys worked extremely hard and neatly, resulting in a great end result.
Very happy with the guys from Wij Slopen Nu!

I hired WijSlopenNu to demolish and remove my fireplace, including both the flue and the chimney above. They removed everything in one day and closed everything up neatly.
When the job turned out to be more work than expected, they sent an extra worker to make sure everything was finished on time. They had covered everything around the work area properly and all the debris was neatly removed.
They also arranged a plasterer for me to make everything look nice and tidy again. So they don’t just demolish, they also repair and finish everything afterwards.
I had great contact with Jordie beforehand and the staff were extremely friendly.
I am very satisfied!

Repairing your chimney? Consider removal instead
If your chimney is leaking, cracked or damaged, repairing it may seem like the obvious solution. But if you no longer use the chimney, investing in repairs and future maintenance may not always make sense.
Removing an unused chimney can provide a permanent solution. It can eliminate recurring problems such as leaks and deteriorating brickwork, while also creating more space inside your home when the chimney breast is removed.
What does chimney removal cost?
The cost depends on your property and how much of the chimney needs to be removed. We can remove only the chimney stack above the roof, the chimney breast inside your home, or the complete chimney and flue. If you’ve had recurring maintenance costs, removing the chimney is often more cost-effective in the long run.

Safe removal from start to finish
Before starting, we assess the chimney and determine how it can be safely removed. If structural support is required, this is taken into account as part of the work.
We take care of the demolition, remove the debris and ensure the affected areas are left neatly finished.
When does removal make sense?
Chimney removal can be worth considering when:
- Your chimney is no longer in use
- Repairs are becoming expensive
- You are dealing with recurring leaks or damage
- You are renovating your home
- You want to create additional living space
- You want to avoid future chimney maintenance
